You Can Get Your Tee on too!

So, I have decided to add the custom faux screenprinting tees to my collection of things for sale. You may get your own too. Just let me know what you need. Currently, I am filling an order for school spirit wear! I'll be posting a group of photos as I create more!

Getting My Tee on...

I have decided I must have ADD when it comes to crafting. You should see my dining room. It's not really even a dining room...it's become my "catch all" room because it catches all that I put in it! Currently, it is holding a table of machines--embroidery, sewing, sometimes a laptop, or the Cricut... It holds three sets of plastic draws to put all my goodies in. Those goodies include anything from needles to thread to buttons to glue to markers...you get the idea. It holds to boxes of fabric. There are at least 4 other large plastic storage containers elsewhere in the house. Sadly, I cannot even call my dining room, my sewing room....Why? Because it is also my bow making room, my embroidery room, my scrapbooking room, my son's playroom, and most recently- my painting room.

I have added to the gamut of things that I have learned how to do--making faux screen printed shirts...and it is so much fun!

The other day, my good friend came to the house on an impromptu visit when she heard I was in the process of making some of these tees. Then less than a week later, she was at my doorstep again to make some more with me. A year ago, I read about this process on Made, a blog that gave some really neat ideas for crafting and sewing. Using freezer paper and fabric paint, you can make some pretty awesome shirts. Recently, I discovered that she updated her site and also added a new tutorial using a "posterizing" effect to make tees using faces. So my oldest son got a Yoda out of the mix. Dana from MADE cuts out her own stencils with an Xacto knife and the freezer paper, but I have discovered that my dustly little Cricut and Sure-Cuts-A-Lot does the dirty work for me. (BTW-SCAL or Sure Cuts a Lot has been sued by Provo Craft and is now no longer allowed to sell their software so that it can be used with the Cricut...)

Check out all the new shirts my lovely sons get to don.
